             The Plywood Cup!

Proceeds from this event will go to support :

Raise A Reader and the Pediatric Outpatient Unit at the Regina General Hospital

Brought to you by: Canadian Progress Club – Regina Centre

Q:     What the heck is the Plywood Cup?

A:      Well it goes something like this…There are 20 teams. Each team has four members, minimum one person of each gender. Each team is provided: two 4’ x 8’ sheets of plywood,

( one ¾” and one ¼” thick), one 2x2 – 8’ long, a hammer, a hand saw, nails, duct tape (of course!), a yardstick, tape measure and a pencil. Your team will have only 90 minutes to build a seaworthy vessel that one team member will captain across the mighty Wascana.

You can register a team of four and we will send you the pledge forms and other information you will need. Each team member is expected to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges, and will then receive a second complimentary ticket for the BBBBBQ . Proceeds from this event will go to support Raise A Reader and the Pediatric Outpatient Unit at the Regina General Hospital

There is plenty of time to dry-off for the evening BBBBBQ (Boat Beer Beef BBQ) where the meal, music, awards ceremony and prizes cap off a day of fun and community contribution. Extra tickets for this family event are available at $15 each.

Each Team receives…

X  Enough stuff to build a boat (we think)

& 90 minutes to do it in...

Prizes will be awarded to both the individual and Team that raises the most Pledges

The winner of the race will have the team’s name

engraved on the coveted Plywood Cup Trophy

Prizes and trophies will also be awarded for other achievements such as: Best Dressed & First Boat to Sink
