Building computers is not as difficult as you might think. In fact you do not so much build computers, more assemble them from a collection of parts. All the hard work has been done for you, by the whiz kids at, Microsoft, Intel and a whole host of support companies.

It still never ceases to amaze me that a device so complex as a computer works at all, especially since a host of different companies build the highly complex electronic circuits and they all work together in unison. Amazing isn't it.

And some of the cases available now are really stylish. Gone are the days when you could have any color as long as it was beige.

What is to be gained if you Build Computers of your own?

• Total control of the parts used. Truly a custom system.
• Cost saving - possibly. What generally happens is that you spend a little more on better parts. You get better performance for a given cost, because you only buy the parts that you want.
• You learn how to install the windows environment and set up a machine from scratch. Reloading windows - the ultimate software fix it.
• It becomes easy for you to update your own system with new hardware.
• Save money later by upgrading your existing system, instead of buying new.
• Hardware faults become fixable. If you can build it you can fix it.
• Knowing more about your computer lets you get more out of it.

A word of warning:- It is easy to build a computer, but my role is as a guide. I can take no responsibility for any problems that you may encounter, should you choose to embark on this path.

However it is my intention with this web site to make your computer-building path as easy as possible. The main stumbling block, that you may encounter, is likely to be with the loading and configuring of software. For this reason if you have only a little computer experience, having an "expert" to refer to will be of great help, particularly if that person has built computers of their own, or has upgraded their own system.

If you still think that it will be too difficult for you to build computers, and your first thought was of saving money, it is possible to find some extremely good deals on pre-built machines - more on this later.
